“Oh, you know the danger, but it feels right to you!”

“Golden Youth” by Bonesetters

Performed at Hotfox’s album release!

12 Albums You Should Buy Before Christmas By Our Favorite Related BandsPart Four: Hotfox- “You, Me and the Monster”
These fire-eyed youths will make you fizzle. I remember when I first met Oliver Hopkins. His tall, lanky figure with mussed ginger hair to his shoulders walked into the Bears of Blue River sessions for a guest spot on “Dames”. We had some drinks and sang some songs, but none hit me in the forehead as much as “Esplanade”. Gavin, Maggie, Oliver and I were stuffed in a booth with Tyler helming the board. The lyrics “the asylum is waging war upon the streets/ and all we’ve ever feared is leaking out our ears/ the nightmares before us” still worm their way into my head every one and a while. So dark and tantalizing. Since that time our bands have remained close friends, even doing a brief mini-Indiana tour “Thuderfist” with another brother band The Calumet Reel. All these folks (Oliver, Duncan, Michael, Marcus, and Colin) are great folks to just hang around with. Earlier this year, they released their album through Roaring Colonel Records, and they’ve been opening for many national acts when they come through Indiana. Their album is placed for $8, and you should definitely pick this up. Don’t sleep on Hotfox. Hotfox might get aggravated and breathe fire on your bones.

Halloween is a time for half-price costumes spooks and giggling children wandering the streets of every town in America. A night of ratified hooliganism, where threats of tricks to strangers will get these children small morsels of sweets. We are coming to Bloomington, Indiana on Saturday, October 29th to play at our friends, Hotfox’s, house. It’s bound to bring sweets and drinks and rattling guitars and children in dank basements where music is born and moves. It’s a night for the tricksters. Oh, won’t you join our cause to howl in the night and wake the monsters?

Up top is a video of our brothers in arms doing what they do!
